Corey Ferguson is a committed and empathetic Registered psychologist, who places significant emphasis on the welfare of individuals within indigenous, neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities. Corey brings extensive experience and evidence-based knowledge,  and endeavors to establish a secure and neuroaffirming environment where clients can freely explore and navigate their distinctive paths to wellness.

Corey's Background

Corey, a Provisional Psychologist, prioritizes creating a safe and supportive environment for clients, fostering strong therapeutic relationships, and leveraging clients' strengths to achieve therapeutic goals. He adopts a client-centred approach and advocates for clients within the neurodiversity affirming model.

 

Currently completing his internship under the 4+2 pathway toward becoming a registered psychologist, Corey is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi). His previous experience includes working in private practice, providing support to clients of all ages through in-person sessions and Telehealth. Additionally, he has served as a Crisis Support Officer at Lifeline, where he assisted people dealing with suicidality.

 

Corey believes in building connections with clients by incorporating humour, empathy, and a low-demand approach into his sessions. Outside of his professional role, he resides in South Brisbane and enjoys indulging in video games, spending quality time with friends,  and maintaining an active lifestyle through gym workouts.
