Learn about emily

Emily is a compassionate and dedicated Provisional Psychologist with a strong commitment to supporting clients from diverse backgrounds. As a non-binary, queer, and neurodivergent clinician, their lived experience aids them to innately empathise with some of the experiences clients may be navigating, sparing the need for extensive explanations on LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent aspects of  identity.

emily's background

Emily's primary focus lies in fostering a safe therapeutic environment that is inclusive and affirming, especially for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients. They aid clients to be kinder to the parts of themselves they may struggle to accept, and they focus on building skills to cope with the many complexities that come with being human. Emily’s experience encompasses a broad array of client presentations, including ADHD, Autism, gender identity, gender dysphoria, dissociative disorders, mood disorders, family and relational conflicts, complex trauma and abuse, and more. They understand the importance of tailoring therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs and encourage clients to set goals irrespective of neurotypical standards.

Utilising a variety of therapeutic modalities, including ACT, DBT, IFS, and aspects of CBT, Emily ensures that their work is grounded in a neuro-affirming, lived experience and client led approach. They create a safe and trauma-informed space where clients always have the autonomy to say no and to communicate bluntly. Using fidget toys, stimming, drawing, and other forms of emotional regulation are always welcome during sessions, and eye contact is not required. No matter what you bring to the table, Emily will provide a safe and empathetic place for you to show up how you are, right now.
