Learn about Kodi
My name is Kodi, and I proudly identify as a queer woman, which not only informs my professional endeavours but also fuels my commitment to fostering healing and empowerment within the queer community.
As a provisional psychologist dedicated to serving the LGBTQIA+ community, I am driven by a profound passion for providing affirming care and support to individuals navigating the complexities of their identities and experiences.
Kodi's background
My journey into the realm of psychology was deeply influenced by my own lived experiences as a person who is a QBIPOC. Growing up, I encountered numerous challenges and obstacles that often left me feeling marginalized and misunderstood. It was through these struggles that I developed an unwavering determination to advocate for the rights and well-being of queer individuals everywhere.
Throughout my academic and professional pursuits, I have focused my efforts on cultivating a deep understanding of the unique needs and experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals, particularly within the realm of trauma. Recognizing the prevalence of trauma within the queer community, I have dedicated myself to developing specialized skills and knowledge aimed at providing sensitive and affirming care to those who have experienced adversity and distress.
As a provisional psychologist, I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where individuals can explore their identities, confront past traumas, and embark on journeys of self-discovery and healing. Whether through individual therapy, group support, or community outreach initiatives, I strive to empower my clients to embrace their authentic selves and cultivate resilience in the face of adversity.
Above all, I believe in the expansive power of compassion, empathy, and solidarity. By curating a therapeutic environment grounded in acceptance and understanding, I aim to facilitate meaningful growth and transformation for individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community. Together, we can create tools that will allow us to navigate the complexities of identity, begin healing processes, and forge new paths toward greater self-acceptance, authenticity, and fulfilment.
