Learn about Veronica

Hi, my name is Veronica and I've been working as a psychologist since 2010. I’ve worked with people from all walks of life.

My passions are working with people who are LGBTQ+, Neurodiverse, First Nations, and those who are Culturally and Linguistically Diverse.

Veronica's background

I operate from a trauma informed, strengths based, culturally responsive, client centred, LGBTQ+ and Neurodiverse affirming approach. I am trained in Schema Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TFCBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).

In addition, I've spent a long time helping people work through a wide range of issues, including:

Trauma and PTSD (particularly domestic violence, sexual assault, and parental abuse), Drug and alcohol use, Difficulties having sex, Depression and mood disorders, Anxiety and OCD, Self-harm and suicidality,  Borderline personality disorder, Grief and loss, Living with an intellectual disability, Coping with gender dysphoria and affirming gender identity, Managing sensory issues, Managing difficulties with executive function within ADHD and ASD,

My strengths are helping clients feel safe to be themselves and to share their story, knowing they will be accepted for who they are. My approach is very down to earth, empathetic and warm. My aim as a psychologist is to help clients leave sessions with more of an understanding of themselves and feeling better equipped to deal with life’s challenges.

On a personal note, I'm a Queer, Neurodiverse Latinx mum of two and have first hand experience of the challenges and superpowers that come with being Queer and Neurospicey!
